How “WhatsApp Channel Link” Will Exactly Work
The latest update adds a copy link option to the message menu so that users can easily copy the link to a channel’s latest post. Now, when you hold down on the link, a dialogue box appears with the following five options:
- Forward
- Copy
- Copy Link
- Edit
- Delete
In the next update, a new option called “Copy Link” will be added so that users can easily duplicate the update’s link. They can easily keep the context of the update thanks to the link’s ability to immediately open the channel by displaying the message the link was associated with. This makes a lot of sense.
In fact, the company is providing the channel update link to anyone who has access to the channel, not just the channel creators. However, this function will aid users in rapidly disseminating relevant channel updates to their social networks without the need for manual forwarding or sharing.
It’s likely possible to copy the update link and distribute it outside of WhatsApp, allowing anyone to access the update without having to dig through the entire channel history.
