Xiaomi 14 series get AISP camera update

Xiaomi has been doing great thanks to the collaboration with Leica and the biggest camera update for the Xiaomi 14 series is being rolled out. it seems that Xiaomi is also now trying to address some drawbacks in its camera software.

Xiaomi 14 Features

Xiaomi 14 has been officially released on Nov. 1, 2023. The smartphone comes in 6.36 inches size and the display is LTPO OLED which provides 1200 x 2670 pixels resolution. The phone is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 4610 mAh battery + 90W wired, PD3.0, QC4, 100% in 31 min (advertised) + 50W wireless, 100% in 46 min (advertised) + 10W reverse wireless.

It runs on Android 14 + HyperOS operating system. The device is powered by the Qualcomm SM8650-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Octa-core processor while the GPU is Adreno 750. It is packed with 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB internal storage.

The rear camera features a triple-camera: 50 MP (wide) + 50 MP (telephoto) + 50 MP (ultrawide) while on the front, there is a single camera: 32 MP (wide). Xiaomi 14 is equipped with sensors such as under display, optical fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, gyro, compass, barometer, and color spectrum.

Xiaomi 14 & 14 Pro – AISP camera update

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have begun receiving this update, which upgrades the security patch to 2024-03-01. The version number of the update is OS1.0.36.0.UNCCNXM, note that this update is initially released in China. Despite being a small update of 159 MB in size, some changes are coming to the camera application, and the update changelog is as follows:

The update changelog reveals Xiaomi’s overall focus on improving portrait mode, with many effects being enhanced and the addition of a new feature called Master Portrait. One of the most notable aspects highlighted in this changelog is “Xiaomi AISP,” indicating Xiaomi’s efforts to improve its computational photography algorithms.
