Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to receive One UI 6.1.1 in August

Samsung‘s Galaxy S24 Ultra has been facing significant camera issues since its launch. Users have reported problems such as excessive noise in low-light sky areas, banding in sky portions of photos, overexposure in specific frame sections, and an oil painting effect at high zoom levels (10x and above). Additionally, low-light video recording has been plagued by grain and noise, though it remains uncertain if this will be addressed in the upcoming update.

Reliable tipster Ice Universe recently revealed that Samsung is testing a major software update, One UI 6.1.1, aimed at resolving these camera issues. This update is expected to be the largest for the Galaxy S24 Ultra since its release and will include numerous camera-related improvements.

There is some uncertainty about the release date. Initially, Ice Universe suggested a July release, aligning with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. However, a later post on Weibo from the same source indicated an August rollout for One UI 6.1.1.

Interestingly, Samsung typically does not release point-revision updates like One UI 6.1.1 for its non-foldable phones. This means Galaxy S24 Ultra users might first see improvements in the upcoming July security update, which could set the stage for the more extensive camera-focused update in August.

As Samsung has not yet provided official information, users will need to stay tuned for further announcements in the coming weeks to get a clearer understanding of the exact improvements and the official release date of the update.
