Motorola Edge 40 Neo Android 14 update Has Rolled Out

Motorola has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 14 update for the mid-ranger. The staged rollout is currently available to a small percentage of users in India; a broader rollout is to commence in a matter of time.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo has been officially released on September 14, 2023. The device is IP68 dust- and water-resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 min) and supports Nano-SIM, eSIM, or Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual standby). It is built with a glass front, a plastic frame, and a plastic back. The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7030 Octa-core processor, and the GPU is a Mali-G610 MC3.

The smartphone features a dual camera that consists of 50 MP (wide) and 13 MP (ultrawide), while on the front there is a single camera setup: 32 MP (wide). The size of the screen is 6.55 inches, and the screen type is a P-OLED capacitive touchscreen that will give you an output of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo sensors include under-display, optical fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. The phone comes with features such as Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, Type-C 3.1, USB Type-C 2.0, OTG, and GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO. The smartphone is packed with 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM, with 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage options.

It comes with a powerful non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery + 68W wired, 50% in 15 min (advertised). The device comes in various colors: black, Soothing Sea, and Caneel Bay. The dimension of the device is 159.6 x 72 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 170 grams.

According to Moto Edge 40 Neo owner on the company’s community forum, the update weighs around 1.39GB in download size and is seeded with the U1TM34.107-17-2 software version.

The Android 14 update for Moto Edge 40 Neo comes with a slew of useful features, including lock screen customizations, monochrome themes with more color options, using your phone as a webcam, a new battery settings page, even bigger fonts, improved privacy and security, and more.

However, some users in the community forum also reported slow charging issues after updating to the newest update.

How to update Motorola Edge 40 Neo to Android 14

If you reside in India and own the Edge 40 Neo, then you can check the new update by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates. If the update is not yet visible on your device, please wait for a few days.

Make sure to take a backup before updating your phone. Also, charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
