In October, Xiaomi released the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro smartphones. However, rumors of a more advanced “Ultra” version have been circulating for some time. Although Xiaomi has not made an official announcement, the device has been revealed through recently leaked hands-on images.
The photos, presumably captured during an initial camera test, reveal the phone hidden within a protective case. The overall design is somewhat obscured; however, there is a distinct camera bump featuring a periscope lens located on the lower right side.
The phone is visible in comparison to the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Vivo X100 Pro in these images, and it appears to have a similar design to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. In addition to the visible features, the phone’s back is adorned with a white label that holds some intriguing details.
The markings “N1,” “P2,” and “EU” provide enigmatic hints. As per Xiaomiui, it seems that the model number “N1” is in line with the anticipated flagship from Leica. This adds more weight to the possibility that it could be the 14 Ultra. The term “P2” implies that it is a prototype, still in the early stages and not yet fully developed. On the other hand, “EU” indicates that there may be a global version specifically designed for European markets.
The camera module is discreetly hidden, but it will likely have a recognizable round shape with four lenses.
According to DCS, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available in various colors. This includes a blue version with a glass back, as well as orange and black options with a silicone skin. However, it has been reported that these colors are associated with the engineering prototype, suggesting the potential for more options, such as white.
DCS suggests that the design will feature micro-curved edges on the display, while the back panel will have a streamlined bulge design. It’s worth mentioning that the metal middle frame no longer extends to the battery cover, creating a more cohesive and seamless look.
According to tech enthusiast Smart Pikachu, it has been suggested that the camera module on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could potentially feature a subtle curved design instead of the current straight orientation. If this is accurate, it implies that the overall design will remain largely unchanged from its previous version.
According to recent reports, the camera setup of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a powerful one-inch, 50-megapixel LYT-900 camera. This camera will offer variable apertures, allowing users to adjust from f/1.6 to f/4.0. The device will feature a high-resolution 50-megapixel IMX8-series ultra-wide camera, along with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
Under its surface, the 14 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and there is a possibility that it will have the capability for two-way satellite communication. The device is anticipated to feature a powerful 5,180mAh battery that supports fast charging of up to 90W through wired connections and 50W through wireless charging. It may include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The 14 Ultra is set to make its debut alongside the Xiaomi Pad 7 series of flagship tablets in April 2024.
