Xiaomi 14 & 14 Pro SU7-inspired pre-orders are now open.

At a press conference in China earlier today, Xiaomi unveiled its first electric vehicle, the SU7. To cap off the launch celebration, the company unveiled the Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro, and Watch S3 in Verdant Green and Limited Edition Aqua Blue to match the new car’s color scheme. Jade green, black, white, and snow mountain pink are the current color options; these new ones will be available soon. The middle frame is made of black, glossy metal, and the back panel is made of the same color glass as the car.

The new color options for the Xiaomi Watch S3 will be available alongside the current black, silver, and brown leather options. Curiously, the display casing has text that reads “Limited Edition,” along with the new color options. These alternative colorways really bring out the watch’s best features.

Clad in stunning Aqua Blue and Verdant Green hues that emulate the EV’s hero colors, these limited edition phones are now available for pre-reservations in China via JD.com (Xiaomi 14 | Xiaomi 14 Pro).

The fact that Xiaomi is not increasing prices for these limited editions is fantastic. The regular price of the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro applies to both the Aqua Blue and Verdant Green variants as well. Although they are available for pre-order at this time, the official sale date is January 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. China time.

Description of the Xiaomi Watch S3

The display of the Xiaomi Watch S3 is a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 466 x 466. A sapphire crystal front and a stainless steel frame make up its construction, which has a PPI density of 326. This wristwatch can withstand water pressure of up to 5 ATM, and it pairs with other devices using Bluetooth 5.2.

The device can measure altitude, pace, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, calories burned, steps taken, and sleep quality with the help of its non-removable wireless Li-ion 486 mAh battery. A timer, alarm clock, stopwatch, and reminder are also part of it.

If you’re using Android 6.0 or later or iOS 13.0 or later, the Xiaomi Watch S3 has built-in support for instant messaging and email. In addition, it has NFC, BDS, QZSS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and GPS (L1+L5).

Impressive specifications characterize both the Xiaomi 14 and the 14 Pro, two high-end smartphones from Xiaomi. In comparison to the 6.73-inch 2K OLED display found on the Xiaomi Pro, the 14.’s 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED display is noticeably smaller. The phones’ 120Hz refresh rates and maximum brightness levels are 3000 nits.

Unlike the Pro, which features a 50MP quad-camera system, the Xiaomi 14 features a 50MP triple-camera setup on the back. The primary cameras on both phones come with optical image stabilization (OIS).

A 4610mAh battery powers the Xiaomi 14, whereas a 4880mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Pro. A 90W wired charger and a 50W wireless charger are both compatible with both phones.

Prices

The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro don’t come with any hidden costs. The original price will remain unchanged even for the limited edition custom color versions. The Xiaomi 14 will begin selling for CNY 4,999 ($707). Starting at CNY 5,999 ($849), you can get your hands on the Xiaomi 14 Pro in these exclusive colors. The original eSIM version of the Xiaomi Watch was CNY 100 cheaper than the S3 model. The price is 1,099 Chinese yuan, or about $155 USD.

No matter what color options these devices get, their specs won’t change. Similar to the Xiaomi SU7, they are only available in China. The whole “limited edition” thing probably implies that there will only be a small number of these sold in that market. Therefore, we are not holding out much hope of seeing them anywhere other than China. Regardless, it’s intriguing to observe Xiaomi attempting to integrate its products with the latest electric vehicle. Since the SU7 is likely one of Xiaomi’s most expensive and technologically advanced products to date, the business is making every effort to highlight it.
