Xiaomi has always been known for incorporating high-capacity batteries in its smartphones. Even so, the use of social networks, messaging applications such as WhatsApp or even locating ourselves on Google Maps can cause the battery of our Xiaomi not to last until the end of the day . This has probably become the fear of many.
Fortunately, in HyperOS and HyperOS 2 we find a multitude of options and features that, by activating or deactivating them, can give us several more hours of battery life . That is why we have compiled three of the most foolproof tricks to extend the battery of our Xiaomi, REDMI or POCO and thus be able to reach the end of the day with sufficient charge:
1. Extend your Xiaomi’s battery by disabling these two unnecessary processes
HyperOS 2, like HyperOS and MIUI, brings with it a service called System Daemon that, although it has a very defined functionality, is a totally unnecessary process , so disabling it can help us save battery and even improve our privacy. This is responsible for collecting information and usage statistics in order to improve the experience in future versions, so if we disable it we will not notice any change.
In addition, there is also a process called MSA in charge of managing the advertising that Xiaomi implements in some of its applications. By deactivating it we will gain extra battery, in addition to preventing certain intrusive advertising from being displayed on our smartphone . To deactivate this process and System Daemon, just follow these simple steps on any Xiaomi, REDMI or POCO:
- Go to Settings > Fingerprints, face data and screen lock > Authorization and revocation
- Next we will disable the msa and System Daemon services as shown in the image above.
2. System printing service, another resource that practically nobody uses
Another feature hidden in our Xiaomi is the system printing service. This is enabled by default and what it does is continuously search for printers through our WiFi connection in order to print documents and images. While it is useful if we have a printer at home, the truth is that this service drains the battery considerably , so if you want to extend the battery of your Xiaomi you can disable it this way:
- Go to Settings > More connectivity options > Printing
- Next, simply disable the System Print Service option to prevent the system from continuously searching for printers on the network.
3. Prevent your Xiaomi screen from turning on every time you receive a notification
By default, our Xiaomi turns on its screen every time we receive a new notification , displaying it on the lock screen itself. While it can be useful for many, if we tend to receive many notifications, the battery consumption shoots up. Our advice is to disable this feature, especially if you don’t mind unlocking your smartphone to see if you’ve received something new:
- Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar > Lock screen
- Once inside, we will prevent the screen of our smartphone from turning on with each new notification by clicking on Format and then choosing the option Do not show notifications on the Lock Screen .
By following these three tricks we will be able to stretch the battery of our Xiaomi to the maximum and thus reach the end of the day with some charge. If any of them does not convince you, you can activate or deactivate the option again by following the same steps.
