Sony Xperia 1 VI update Rolled Out With Wi-Fi 7 connectivity

Sony’s Xperia 1 VI just gained a new feature from the recent update. The device now supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) connectivity thanks to a software update which was promised back during the announcement.

Xparia 1 VI now supports the latest generation Wi-Fi connectivity

Wi-Fi 7 brings faster connection and improved stability with lower latency (100x lower compared to Wi-Fi 6) thanks to support for the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands. It’s also rated at a maximum throughput of 46 Gbit/s. The new update for the Xperia 1 VI appears to be following a phased release which means some regions will get it ahead of others.

Sony Xperia 1 VI Specs

Sony Xperia 1 VI mobile was launched on 15th May 2024. The phone comes with a 6.50-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels (FHD+). The display sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Sony Xperia 1 VI comes with 12GB of RAM. The Sony Xperia 1 VI runs Android 14 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera; a 12-megapixel camera, and a 12-megapixel camera. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 12-megapixel sensor.

Sony Xperia 1 VI is based on Android 14 and packs 256GB of inbuilt storage. It was launched in Black, Platinum Silver, and Khaki Green colours. It features an IP65 rating for dust and water protection.
