Samsung's One UI 7 Update: Official Release Schedule & Features In Canada

Samsung will officially release the stable One UI 7 update starting April 7. However, carrier-locked models will follow their respective carriers’ schedules. Fortunately, carriers have also begun releasing the One UI 7 update roadmap for the first batch, which includes the Galaxy S24 series and the sixth-generation foldables. Telus, a Canada-based carrier company, has disclosed the stable One UI 7 update roadmap for April.

One UI 7 Update Release Schedule for April

According to Telus, the One UI 7 update will be available for the following models on April 11:

  • Samsung Galaxy S24

  • Samsung Galaxy S24+

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

These models will receive the stable One UI 7 update in the first wave. The second wave might commence by the end of this month or in the next month.

If you own one of the mentioned models and are in Canada, ensure you regularly check for the update starting from the specified release date.

Key Features of the One UI 7 Update

One UI 7 introduces one of the most significant changes in One UI history. Depending on your device model, you can expect UI changes, a new quick settings and notifications layout, NowBar, new AI features, and more. While Samsung has packed in new features, the update was significantly delayed.

The six-month wait for the Android 15-based One UI 7 update will finally end this month with its stable release. While the latest flagship models will receive the update early, users with other models may have to wait a bit longer. The update rollout will start this month, but it could take a few months until all devices receive the update.

Preparing Your Device for the One UI 7 Update

If you own a Galaxy device that’s eligible for the One UI 7 update, you can prepare your device by backing up your data. The One UI 7 update will be rolled out gradually through OTA updates from the release date.

The One UI 7 update is currently available in beta for select Galaxy models. If your device isn’t on the above list, it might take longer to receive the update, but you can still try the beta version.
