These Samsung Galaxy phones are dust- and water-resistant

Samsung strives to offer its Galaxy users a more user-friendly experience. Most of its flagship and mid-range devices have interesting features and technologies that simplify life. Samsung smartphones are known for their IP68 rating, which makes them dust and water-resistant. There are several Galaxy smartphones and tablets with IP68 ratings.

Before looking at eligible devices, you should know about IP68 ratings. Ingress Protection (IP) ratings are industry-level certification marks for devices tested under controlled labs with the IEC 60529 standard and receiving IP certification. Overall, it indicates dust- or water-resistant smartphone. The first digit of an IP rating indicates protection against solids like sand or dust, while the last digit indicates protection against liquids like water.

To meet IEC 60529 certification, IPX8 water resistance was tested by submerging the device in 1.5m of fresh water for 30 minutes without movement.

Regarding IP68 ratings, the first digit thereafter is 6. The phone is dust-resistant because it has major dust protection. Water-resistant devices have the last digit 8, which indicates water resistance. One more IP rating, IPX8, indicates that the device is not tested for liquid and solid ingress.
