Redmi 13 5G Gets Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update in India

The Chinese company recently started the release in India, and now, more eligible phones are getting the build in that region. They are rolling out the Redmi 13 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update.

The smartphone is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 5030 mAh battery + 33W wired. The phone runs on the Android 14 + HyperOS operating system. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm SM4450 Snapdragon 4+ Gen 2 Octa-core processor, while the GPU is Adreno 613.

The device comes in a 6.79-inch size, and the display is IPS LCD and provides a 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is packed with 6 GB, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB and 256 GB internal storage. The rear camera features a triple camera: 108 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide), while on the front, there is a single camera: 13 MP (wide).

The device is equipped with sensors such as a side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, compass, and virtual proximity sensing. Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G is available in various colors including black and other colors. It supports IP54, dust and splash resistance, alongside Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).

The update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.3.0. VNUINXM. It comes in a 4.4 GB package with all the expected features. The Android security patch level is bumped to November 2024, while the OS version is Android 15. In addition, many new features are introduced to improve security, performance, and stability.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches. At the moment, only Mi Pilot members have access to the ROM for preview. It usually lasts for two weeks, after which a wider rollout will commence. But that mostly happens when there’s a serious issue, and so far none has been reported. We might see more people get that upgrade in the coming days.

How to download the Redmi 13 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update

While the rollout is limited to a few people, you can still install it via the updater app. However, you need an authorized Mi Beta account or wait for the public rollout to commence. Also, you need to back up your files before installing the upgrade.
