POCO M6 Plus 5G Gets Android 15 (HyperOS 2) update in India

The Chinese company recently started the release in India, and now, more eligible phones are getting the build in that region. They are rolling out the POCO M6 Plus 5G Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update.

The device is packed with 6 GB, 8 GB RAM along with 128 GB internal storage. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm SM4450 Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE Octa-core processor, while the GPU is Adreno 613. The display of the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus comes with a 6.79-inch LCD and 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution.

It is fueled with a Li-Po 5030 mAh battery + 33W wired. It also features a USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and Bluetooth 5.3. The rear camera consists of a dual camera: 108 MP (wide) + 2 MP (macro), and it features an LED flash. On the front, there is a single 13 MP (wide) camera.

The sensors include a side-mounted fingerprint, an accelerometer, and compass. The device is available in three colors: Black, Purple, and Silver. The smartphone runs on Android 14 + HyperOS, up to 2 major Android upgrades to the operating system. The dimensions of the device is 168.6 x 76.3 x 8.3 mm, and it weighs 205 grams.

The update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.3.0. VNUINXM. It comes in a 4.4 GB package with all the expected features. The Android security patch level is bumped to November 2024, while the OS version is Android 15. In addition, many new features are introduced to improve security, performance, and stability.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is rolling out the update in batches. At the moment, only Mi Pilot members have access to the ROM for preview. It usually lasts for two weeks, after which a wider rollout will commence. But that mostly happens when there’s a serious issue, and so far none has been reported. We might see more people get that upgrade in the coming days.

While the rollout is limited to a few people, you can still install it via the updater app. However, you need an authorized Mi Beta account or wait for the public rollout to commence. Also, you need to back up your files before installing the upgrade.
