OnePlus Pad 2 is Receiving OxygenOS 15 Update

OnePlus has released an OxygenOS 15 update for its device, OnePlus Pad 2, that added a number of features and highlights. In addition, it adds higher levels of security and privacy, as well as theft detection. The update is also capable of making the device better than before with new features.

The update adds system-level swiping curve coverage for third-party apps, including the WebView interface, with ultra-animation effects that also ensure a consistent scrolling experience across the system. Also, the home screen icons with the most natural and comfortable properties and colors for a fuller and sharper visual.

In addition, a large number of icons in system functions have been redesigned, ensuring more visual consistency across the system. It also optimizes the rounded corner designed by standardizing the specifications and expanding the application of continuous curvature.

It also introduces optimizations for the new Android Always on display, lock screen, and home screen. It adds Display Flux, Classic Mode, Lock screen clock color blending, glass texture, blurred wallpaper, AI depth effect, AI auto fill, glass pattern, blurred wallpaper, and more.

It also adds a new live alert design that focuses on the visualization of information. It also optimizes the way you interact with Live Alert capsules but only requires tapping a capsule. You can quickly switch between multiple live activities by swiping left or right on the capsule in the status bar.

It also introduces photo editing capability that remembers the settings of your previous edits so it can be applied to other edits. It improves integration between the camera and filters. Additionally, it also makes changes to the floating window, split view, notification, quick settings, battery, and charging.

The personal security has also been improved with new categorized browsing features for higher levels of privacy and security in the device, making it easier to manage personal data. In this, you can tap the hidden apps folder on the home screen and also verify your privacy password to view the apps.

  • Introduces globally reversible photo editing capability that remembers the settings for your previous edits so they can be applied to subsequent edits, keeping the creative flow uninterrupted.
  • Improves integration between Camera and filters, so filters that are applied to photos when taken can be edited, changed and removed later in Photos.

Floating Window and Split View

  • Introduces new Floating Window gestures: pulling down a notification banner to bring up a floating window, pulling down a floating window for full screen display, swiping up to close a floating window and swiping to a side to hide a floating window.

Notifications & Quick Settings

  • Adds the Split mode for the notification drawer and Quick Settings. Swipe down from the upper-left to open the notification drawer, swipe down from the upper-right for Quick Settings and swipe left or right to switch between them.

Battery & charging

  • Introduces “Charging limit” to stop charging at 80% to extend battery lifespan and slow down degradation.

  • Improves Private Safe with the new categorised browsing features for images, videos and documents, making it easier to manage private data.

OnePlus Pad 2 Specs

OnePlus Pad 2 has been officially released on July 16, 2024. The tablet comes with a 12.1-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 2120 x 3000 pixels resolution. It is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 9510 mAh battery + 67W wired, 64% in 30 min, 100% in 81 min (advertised). The device runs on Android 14, OxygenOS 14.1 operating system and is available in a single color: Nimbus Gray.

It features USB Type-C 2.0, OTG, an accessory connector, and Bluetooth 5.4. The dimension of the device is 268.7 x 195.1 x 6.5 mm and it weighs 584 grams. OnePlus Pad 2 is packed with 8 GB, 12 GB RAM while internal storage consists of 128 GB, 256 GB options.

The tablet is packed with Qualcomm SM8650-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor while the GPU is Adreno 750. OnePlus Pad 2 features a 13 MP (wide) camera on the rear side while on the front, there is an 8 MP (wide) camera.
