OnePlus released an update for the OnePlus 9R, which is also available for the Indian variant only. It will fix all the issues that were bothering it through a security patch and add a variety of new features.
Oneplus 9R is officially announced on March 23, 2021. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm SM8250-AC Snapdragon 870 5G Octa-core and it comes with 6.55 inches Fluid AMOLED. The resolution of the screen is 1080 x 2400 pixels.
The screen of the smartphone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass version 5. The device is pack with 8 GB and 12 GB RAM while the internal storage is 128 GB and 256 GB. Oneplus 9R is fueled with a non-removable Li-Po 4500 mAh battery + Fast charging 65W, 1-100% in 39 min (advertised).
The smartphone features a quad camera: 48 MP (wide) + 16 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (depth) + 2 MP (macro) while on the front, there is a 16 MP (wide) sensor. Moreover, it features Mobile Hotspot, NFC, A-GPS with Glonass, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, and the latest version 5.1 Bluetooth.
OnePlus 9R users can now choose not to show tracks when creating a lock screen pattern to unlock the device in the system, providing better ease. Power consumption is optimized to increase the battery life of the device. Along with this, the way home screen widgets are displayed has been improved.
Additionally, a variety of issues have been fixed, including the storage space issue where system data used to take up too much space and the visibility of the volume slider in Quick settings, which is triggered by pressing the physical volume button. Also, birthdays from contacts were not syncing to calendar events, and the camera did not launch when the volume button was pressed twice.
Some other issues include auto-brightness turning on automatically, simple mode causing delayed swipe response, the” uninstall update” button being unavailable after app updates, and the Quick Launch settings background appearing black after the global theme is applied. All these issues have been fixed through this update. On the other hand, integrating the August 2024 Android security patch is necessary to enhance system security.
