The OnePlus 13 was introduced in China on October 31. Now the phone has a “macro close-up” feature. This capability, implemented in a recent system upgrade, allows users to easily shoot extreme close-up photos. The update promises to add versatility to the OnePlus 13’s already superb camera setup.

OnePlus officially announced today that users can access the macro close-up feature after updating their devices. Once the system update is complete, users can open the camera, tap on the “little petal” icon, and begin shooting in macro mode.
This update is being rolled out gradually, and OnePlus has indicated that all eligible devices will receive it by November 17. Users can check for the update by navigating to Settings > System and Updates > Software Update or by selecting the Apply for trial option under the software update settings for an immediate version upgrade.
The OnePlus 13 already stands out for its robust camera specifications. Its camera system includes a 50MP Sony LYT-808 flagship main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP LYT-600 periscope telephoto lens with a multi-prism reflective periscope structure, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view powered by the Samsung S5KJN5 sensor.
Enhancing its imaging capabilities further, OnePlus continued its collaboration with Hasselblad for its image processing, and the phone also features “AI De-glare” technology to reduce glass reflections in photos and “Shadowless Snap” for motion capture, as seen in the Find X8 series.
Beyond the camera, the OnePlus 13 has impressive internal specifications. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU improves single- and multi-core performance by 45%, and GPU performance by 40%. OnePlus has integrated its own Tidal Engine to improve the gaming experience and assures consumers up to four years of trouble-free operation with this system. The phone features the second-generation Tiangong Cooling System Pro, which includes a big 9925mm² vapor chamber for effective temperature regulation.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to launch globally in December 2024, maybe sooner than its predecessors, with a starting price of 4,499 yuan (~$631. With its most recent upgrade, the OnePlus 13 portrays itself as a versatile and powerful device, ready to catch both ordinary and macro photography fans.
