New 15-Inch MacBook May Get M2, M2 Pro CPU Options

According to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to release a 15-inch MacBook model in the second quarter of 2023 or later. Apple’s next 15-inch MacBook is expected to include two CPU options: an M2 chipset with a 35W converter and an M2 Pro chipset with a 67W adapter.

The next MacBook is likely to hit the market in the first part of next year. According to Kuo, it will be introduced in the second quarter of 2023. The forthcoming laptop may not be a member of the MacBook Air family and may go under a new name.

Reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Wednesday via a tweet suggested the development of Apple’s rumored 15-inch MacBook. According to the analyst, the next MacBook would “enter mass production in mid-1H23, with a debut date of 2Q23 or later.” The 15-inch MacBook is expected to come with both M2 and M2 Pro processor choices.

15-Inch MacBook Displays

According to Kuo, the M2 chip variation will have a 35W power converter, while the M2 Pro chip model would include a 67W adaptor. The 15-inch screen is projected to consume more power than the 13.3-inch screen. However, it may not have the MacBook Air brand.

The fresh rumor comes just days after a Bloomberg story said that Apple will be extending its laptop portfolio with new in-house CPUs next year. According to the source, the Cupertino-based business is working on a bigger MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen that might be released as early as next spring, making it the first model of that size in the MacBook Air’s history. The device under development is claimed to be a larger version of the company’s newest 13.6-inch MacBook Air, which was unveiled earlier this month at WWDC 2022.
