iPadOS 15 Features, Release Date, Supported Devices, and More

iPadOS 15 is the latest major edition of Apple’s iPad operating system. Apple has ended up its WWDC 2021 conference with a slew of new software updates, including iPadOS 15. During the presentation, Apple also unveiled iOS 15 and watchOS 8. So, if you’re interested in learning more about the new iPadOS 15 and its features, you’ve come to the correct spot. We’ll go through iPadOS 15 Features, Supported Devices, Roadmap, and more in this post.

With the introduction of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, Apple began sending out upgrades separately for iPhones and iPads for the first time. Later in iPadOS 14, Apple included Home Screen widgets for the first time, enhanced standard applications with distinctive iPad design features like sidebars in Photos and Apple Music, and more.

iPadOS 14 included a new search experience, system-wide handwriting recognition, and other improvements to the iPad experience with the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard. New iPadOS 15 features will also be intriguing to observe.

iPadOS 15 Features

Apple’s internal development process for iPadOS upgrades has changed over time, making it easier for developers to add and delete new features. This makes each yearly release more reliable since features that aren’t ready may be removed. And, as you may know, iPadOS has many of the same functionality as iOS, with the exception of a few iPad-only functions. Also, take a look at our iOS 15 post.

Now let’s take a look at the expected iPadOS 15 Features.

New Notification Controls

Also included in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 is a new Notification layout that puts notifications of the same type together. Notifications now include contact photographs as well as larger app icons. The notification summary displays a list of notifications depending on a timetable that we may manually define. You may choose Do not disturb mode, and it will also establish the DND for text messages.

It allowed you to modify notification settings based on what you were doing at the time, such as working, sleeping, or other activities.

iMessage Changes

iPadOS’s iMessage functionality has grown in importance. With iPadOS 15, the redesigned iMessage allows you to do much more. Articles from the News app, Songs from Apple Music, Images from Photos, and more may now be accessed directly from stock applications. There is a new ‘For you’ area in standard applications where you may view shared content. You may now reply to the person who shared it with you straight from other applications. To respond, you don’t need to open Messages.

Redesigned Home Screen with Widgets

iPadOS 15 Features

The new widgets in iPadOS 15 allow us to construct a layout that makes it easier to access material. Not only that, but new size widgets improve the appearance of the home screen.

On your iPad, you may now use Widgets in addition to App icons. Widget positioning is made easier with different Widget sizes.

App Library

If you have too many Widgets, your commonly used apps may be pushed to the bottom of the screen. Also, because you must first go to the tab where your app icons are situated, accessing the app will take longer. To address this issue, iPadOS 15 now has an App Library area that you can reach right from the dock with a single press. App library groups apps together and displays them in a cluster, allowing you to access all of your apps in one spot.

Privacy

Apple has put a lot of effort into increasing customer privacy, and iPadOS 15 makes it even better.

You may now look at the Privacy report to see which applications have authorization access and which third-party websites they contact.

Multitasking

iPadOS 15 Features

The iPad’s biggest feature is arguably multitasking, which is why customers love it because it has a larger screen and allows them to utilize many apps. With iPadOS 15, we can activate multitasking with a single press on the top. Split view allows you to see two programs side by side.

Simply slide down and select another app to replace the one you’re using. Multitasking is further enhanced by the addition of a shelf and a keyboard.

Quick Notes

Notes received a substantial overhaul as well, making it much easier to take notes than previously. iPadOS 15 also has a system-wide translation feature called Translate, which you may utilize while multitasking.

Swift Playground

Another major feature of iPadOS 15 is Swift Playground, which allows developers to create applications and games directly from their iPad. If you don’t have a Mac, don’t worry; just use your iPad to continue developing your talents.

So those are the new features in iPadOS 15. Of course, there are certain additional features that are tailored to certain services and will be available on all platforms. As a result, you may see additional features here.

Now let’s take a look at the list of iPadOS 15 Supported Devices.
