Xiaomi mobiles are becoming more and more complete. Some of them have a reverse charging system, allowing us not only to charge the battery of other smartphones but also that of other devices such as wireless headphones or even smartwatches.
Unfortunately, this technology cannot be found in all Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO mobiles. Reverse charging or reversible charging by cable has been incorporated from the Redmi Note 9 Series onwards, while wireless reverse charging is exclusive to the high-end, in addition to requiring the device to have wireless charging.
In the case of reverse wireless charging, it is not necessary to use accessories. On the other hand, if we have a Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 12, or any other model compatible with reverse charging via cable, we must buy a USB OTG cable (you can buy it on Amazon or AliExpress ).
How to activate reverse charging by cable or wireless on your Xiaomi
In addition to having a compatible device, it is necessary to activate reverse charging through the MIUI settings. If your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO is compatible, you only have to follow these steps
- Go to Settings > Battery
- Once inside, click on the upper section “ Battery ” and activate the option “ Reverse charging ” or “Reverse wireless charging”
In this simple way, we can use our Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO as a portable battery to charge, either by cable or wirelessly, other smartphones or electronic devices.
