  2. SP Flash Tools

  4. Scatter File (Take from ROM or create using MTK tools)

How to Backup NVRAM on Mediatek MT67XX Devices

Step 1: Install MTK Drivers

Step 2: Download the Scatter File

Open the scatter file and search for the word “NVRAM” within the file.

Step 3: Note Down Key Values

Identify and note the values of “physical_start_addr:” and “partition_size:”. These values vary between devices. For example, for Coolpad Note 3, the values are 0x380000 and 0x500000 respectively.

Step 4: Open SP Flash Tool

Download and open SP Flash Tool. Select the scatter file and navigate to the Readback option.

Click Add, then double-click on the created file.

Choose a folder to save the backup and name the file as nvram.img. Click Save.

Step 7: Input Values and Start Backup

Enter the previously noted values in “Start Address” and “Length”.

Step 8: Complete the Readback Process

Click OK, then click Read Back. Turn off your phone and connect it to the computer via a USB cable. Wait for the process to complete. After completion, you will find the NVRAM.img file inside the selected folder.

How to Restore NVRAM on Mediatek Devices

Step 1: Modify the Scatter File

Open your scatter file using Notepad and search for NVRAM. Rename the file from “None” to “nvram.img” and change is_download: from “false” to “true”.

Step 2: Load the Modified Scatter File

Open SP Flash Tool, select the modified scatter file, and choose only nvram.img. Click Download.

Step 3: Restore NVRAM

Turn off your phone and connect it to the computer via a USB cable. Wait for the download process to complete. Once finished, disconnect your phone and restart it. Your lost MAC address, IMEI, Bluetooth, etc. should now be restored successfully.
