Our smartphone has become an essential tool for our daily lives. That is why we constantly publish various tricks, not only to save battery and thus be able to get to the end of the day but also to protect our photos, videos, contacts, or even the settings of all those applications that we have installed.
Regularly making a backup of our Xiaomi, REDMI, or POCO is vital to protect the content we save on it , especially when starting a major update such as HyperOS 2. Although it does not usually happen, an unexpected reboot while updating or a development failure can cause us to lose all the content saved on our smartphone , from photos to videos or even our contacts, or worse still, the settings and logins that we have in each installed application.
This is how you can create a backup of your Xiaomi, REDMI, or POCO.
Creating a backup of your Xiaomi is extremely simple since we will not have to install third-party applications . HyperOS makes the process easier for us, allowing us to save the backup of our Xiaomi on a PC or directly on the device itself. To do this, simply follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > About phone
- Once inside we access Backup and restore as shown in the image
- Finally, we just have to choose what type of backup we want to make and what components to save (photos and videos, contacts, third-party applications, etc.):
- Local: on the device itself or on a computer (PC)
- Cloud : saved in Xiaomi Cloud or via Google services
HyperOS will allow us to choose what type of backup we want to make, that is, locally on our own device or on a computer or PC . In addition, it also gives us the possibility of making a backup in the cloud thanks to Xiaomi Cloud or even managing said backup through Google services. Likewise, from this section of the system we can also restore a previously made backup .
If we take into account the technical recommendation that applies to backups, it would be best to make a backup regularly, at least monthly, and save it on a different device, for example on our computer . This way, if our device becomes unusable, even temporarily, we can continue to access the backup and restore it.
