We can’t just focus on tricks to improve performance or extend battery life. HyperOS includes countless tools and parameters that seek to make certain everyday tasks easier for us. An example of this is Pocket Mode , a feature that often goes unnoticed by many but that you should definitely have activated on your Xiaomi, REDMI or POCO.
Pocket Mode aims to improve a simple and common practice such as keeping our smartphone in our pocket . And yes, it may seem strange but by activating it we will be able to extend the useful life of our Xiaomi and save more battery than it may seem.
What is Pocket Mode and how can you activate it on your Xiaomi?
Thanks to the various sensors that our Xiaomi integrates, especially the proximity sensor, Pocket Mode is able to detect when we have it stored in our pocket. But not only that, it is also able to detect if we have stored it in a bag or backpack .
But what is the use of this? It’s very simple: when Pocket Mode is activated, the system will automatically prevent the screen from being activated accidentally by the pressure of the pocket or by the movement of the fabric. In this way, we will also avoid the screen turning on constantly, reducing its activation time and therefore not only saving battery but also extending the useful life of the touch sensor on the screen itself.
To activate Pocket Mode we will not have to resort to third-party applications . This mode is available in practically any Xiaomi, REDMI or POCO, although in a somewhat hidden way. To activate it we will follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Lock Screen
- Once inside we look for the Pocket Mode option and activate it as shown in the image above
In this simple way we will prevent the screen of our Xiaomi from turning on accidentally when carrying it in our pocket or backpack , thus reducing battery consumption, extending the useful life of the screen and also avoiding strange configurations caused accidentally.
