The fourth Android 14 beta is the second platform stability beta. Android 14’s third beta entered platform stability last month. Google will prioritize reliability over new features, so changes will be minimal. Let’s learn about Android 14 Beta 4’s modifications.
After the fourth beta, Android 14 will be stable. The stable build won’t arrive for weeks. Google will release tiny beta upgrades for bug repairs and security till then.
Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet can use the fourth Android 14 beta. Pixel Tablet and Fold’s first Android 14 beta. To get Android 14 Beta 4 over the air, customers require compatible devices and beta programme enrollment.
Android 14 Beta 4 has build number UPB4.230623.005 and July 2023 Security Patch. The beta fixes issues and adds an easter egg, making it nearly stable.

- Fixed a system issue that caused both notifications to stop appearing and Quick Settings tiles to stop working until the device was restarted.
- Fixed system issues that sometimes caused VoIP apps to stop recording audio when the screen was locked or the app was put in the background.
- Fixed an issue where the title of the currently playing song would abruptly disappear or be replaced with other information when transitioning a device from always-on-display mode to the lock screen.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented devices from charging or allowed a device to charge but erroneously reported that there were issues with the connected charging cable or accessory.
- Fixed a system issue that sometimes caused the Android System Intelligence service to crash.

The update is only available to users who have joined the beta program. It will be available in the form of an OTA (over-the-air) update to beta users. But in case you are on an Android 13 stable build and want to test beta builds, you can easily opt for the beta program.
You can also manually sideload the Android 14 beta on your Pixel phone, you can download the OTA builds for manual installation
Before updating your phone, make sure to take a backup of important data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
