New features, such as improved sharing capabilities for Google Wallet, will be introduced in Google’s Android System Updates for July. These changes, which go beyond the Android OS and its regular monthly updates, are part of Google’s all-encompassing system, which the company collectively refers to as the “Google System.” Updates to Google’s Play Services and the Play Store are released with Play System updates to give Android devices with new features and enhancements.
Patch notes outlining the Google System’s updates and improvements will be rolling out during the month of July. These changes will make Android devices easier to use in everyday life.
If an update is available for Google Play Services on your device, you can access it through a link that takes you to the app’s page in the Play Store. To update the Play Store, tap your profile picture in the upper-right corner, go to “Settings,” and then hit “About” to find the “Update Play Store” option. System updates from Google Play can be installed by going to the Settings menu on your device and tapping “About phone,” followed by “Android version,” and lastly “Google Play system update.”
Google hasn’t revealed much about the Google System Updates coming in July 2023, although early indicators have included things like improved stability and bug fixes. New “Device Connectivity” capabilities are being promoted by Google, and they are tailor-made for Wear OS devices. This may be connected to the planned ability to sync features like Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Mode between your phone and Pixel Watch.
Most notably, Google Wallet now has the ability for users to “share their valuables” with one another. The specifics of this update are sketchy at best, but they appear to be akin to the introduced option of exchanging digital auto keys from last year.
