The fifth beta of iPadOS 16.6 was released by Apple today. Now that iPadOS 16.6 beta 6 has been released, the final version will soon be available to the public. The most recent beta version, which included corrections and enhancements, was released two weeks ago. Let’s take a look at what’s changed in version 16.6 beta 5 of iPadOS.
A new iOS 16.5.1 (a) security response update is available for iPhones that haven’t been updated to any beta versions. Additionally, iOS 16.6 will be downloadable within the next week or two.
Apple has launched a number of new operating systems alongside iOS 16.6 Beta 5 and iPadOS 16.6 Beta 5, including macOS Ventura 13.5 Beta 5, watchOS 9.6 Beta 5, tvOS 16.6 Beta 5, macOS Big Sur 11.7.9 RC 5, and macOS Monterey 12.6.8 RC 5. iPadOS 16.6 Beta 5 and iOS 16.6 Beta 5 both have the same version number of 20G5070a. With a ‘a’ at the end of the build number, the Release Candidate version might be ready as early as next week.
As you may have predicted, the latest version, like the last beta update, focuses mostly on general improvements and security measures. If there have been any significant updates, I will record them here.
The iPadOS 16.6 Beta 5 is currently available to developers. But soon it will be available to Public beta testers as well. If you are on an iOS 16.6 beta, you will receive the fifth beta on your iPhone. The same goes for the iPad. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
