Apple introduced iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 as new significant improvements for iPhone and iPad during the WWDC event. Both upgrades are currently available as the first beta for developers. Like every major upgrade, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will be available as a developer beta for a few weeks before being released to the general public. Despite the fact that iOS 14 is one of the most significant improvements in Apple’s history, the iOS 15 developer beta includes a slew of new features. More information on the first iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 developer beta can be found here.
The WWDC 2021 event will see Apple unveil a number of new products, including iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Both versions provide a number of new functionality as well as some cosmetic improvements. For all iPhone and iPad owners, this is an amazing upgrade. Although the iOS 15 beta will be available initially to developers, everyone should be on the lookout for the new features detailed in this article.
In addition to iOS 15 Beta and iPadOS 15 Beta, Apple also launched watchOS 8 Beta, macOS 12 Monterey Beta, tvOS 15 Beta, and more at WWDC 2021. It weights more than previous upgrades because they are both big ones. The build number 19A5261w appears on both the iOS 15 developer beta and the iPadOS 15 developer beta. The features of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are listed below.
iOS 15 Beta Features
Many new features are coming to iOS, some of which have already been leaked to the public. However, there are several features in iOS 15 that we were not aware of. Let’s take a look at what’s new in iOS 15.
FaceTime now comes with many new additions including Spatial audio. It allows us to choose if voices surrounding us are audible to others or not. In Facetime, you can now choose grid view for an easy facetime session. You can also generate links to share with others who can join Facetime with your link directly from web browsers which allows users from other OS (like Android) to join the conversation. Facetime also comes with a portrait mode option.
SharePlay allows friends and family to listen to music together, watch movies together. All this you can do while using Facetime. Anyone who is on Facetime can add songs or movies in the queue.
iMessage also got an update in which you can now access shared content directly from stock apps like articles from the News app, songs from Apple Music, photos from gallery and more.
iOS 15 Beta also comes with a new Notification layout that groups the same type of notifications. You can select Do not disturb mode and it will automatically set the DND for messages as well.
Other iOS 15 features include Focus, Photo search, Spotlight, New library with Music, Apple Wallet changes, Apple Maps improvements, Apple weather redesigned, etc.
iPadOS 15 Beta Features
In comparison to iPhones, iPads feature a larger screen. It means you’ll get to try out some special features in addition to the majority of the iOS capabilities.
The new widgets in iPadOS 15 allow us to construct a layout that makes it easier to access material. Not only that, but new size widgets improve the appearance of the home screen.
If you have too many Widgets, your commonly used apps may be pushed to the bottom of the screen. Also, because you must first go to the tab where your app icons are situated, accessing the app will take longer. To address this issue, iPadOS 15 now has an App Library area that you can reach right from the dock with a single press. It displays a cluster of apps in the App library.
The iPad’s biggest feature is arguably multitasking, which is why customers love it because it has a larger screen and allows them to utilize many apps. With iPadOS 15, we can activate multitasking with a single press on the top. Split view allows you to see two programs side by side. Simply slide down and select another app to replace the one you’re using. Multitasking is further enhanced by the addition of a shelf and a keyboard.
Notes received a substantial overhaul as well, making it much easier to take notes than previously. In addition, iPadOS 15 has a system-wide Translate functionality that you may utilize while multitasking.
Swift Playground is another main highlight of the iPadOS 15 which allows developers to develop apps and games directly from your iPad. Don’t have a Mac, no worries, take your iPad and go on with your developer skills.
