Apple AR/MR headset

Apple AR/MR headset was leaked by Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter, While WWDC is still ongoing, we received all of the news yesterday, which we summarized in this keynote wrap-up piece. One of the rumors leading up to the event was that Apple will show off its mixed reality headset, but that did not happen. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has now given us an estimated timetable for when we may expect to see the device.

Apple was forced to backtrack on its Apple AR/MR headset development due to persistent COVID lockdowns in China, particularly in Shanghai, and Kuo estimates the product will enter its EVT (Engineering Validation Test) stage later in Q3 2022.

Kuo anticipates a media debut event in January 2023 for the Apple AR/MR headset, with developer toolkit units delivering 2-4 weeks afterward. Pre-orders are planned to begin in Q2 2023, with open sales beginning around WWDC 2023. All of these dates are still a long way off, so we’ll have to wait and see if they hold up.
