Android 12 (Beta) Developer Preview available for Asus, OnePlus and few devices

Google’s I/O meetings are still entertaining. In the world of Android, there is still something different to watch out for. And, as in previous years, a newer version of Android has been released this year. The first beta of Android 12 has been launched and is now available on a variety of smartphones. Here is a list of non-pixel phones that will get the Android 12 beta aka developer preview update.

Android 12 introduces a slew of new features, including a highly customizable interface that can be configured exactly as you like it. The current iteration of Android has a more attractive appearance in several respects. Pixel owners will also be able to use a personalized color palette and widgets that have been upgraded. The dominant colors from your wallpaper can now be used in the device, including notification colours, lock screen, volume settings, and newly developed widgets. In a nutshell, one color for several elements.

The Pixel computers, of course, are the first to receive the new Android 12 Beta 1 update. However, the latest Android 12 Beta 1 update has begun to arrive on a few non-Pixel smartphones as well. Let us take a closer look at these units.

Asus ZenFone 8 Series

After the case, Asus announced that the beta builds of Android 12 are now live and available for download for the newly released ZenFone 8. The upgrade will remove ZenUI and replace it with a clean AOSP UI. You can get the Android 12 beta file here and flash it on your ZenFone 8. If you like to go back to Android 11, you can do so as well. Please keep in mind that the beta Android 12 update is not yet available for the ZenFone 8 Flip.

OnePlus 9 Series

The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, which were released in March with Android 11 pre-installed, are now ready for the Android 12 beta update. More information about the Android beta update can be found here.

Oppo Find X3 Pro

The only Oppo smartphone to get the latest Android 12 beta update is the Find X3 Pro. Some Find X3 versions are not currently available for download. Oppo confirmed that the beta upgrade would not include a new Color OS version at this time, but will instead bring a newer ColosOS version later on. Android 12 Developer editions are now available in Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand. If you are not satisfied with the beta upgrade, Oppo helps you to revert to Android 11.

Realme GT

Realme’s beta upgrade to Android 12 is now available for the Realme GT, which is only available in China. The flagship computer, which is powered by a Snapdragon 888 cpu, has yet to be released globally. The Realme GT beta will be available for download later this month and should be available internationally as well, signaling that the phone’s global launch is imminent. There is no word about which other Realme flagships will get the Android 12 beta update.

Sharp Aquos

The Japanese smartphone manufacturer has announced that its Aquos smartphones will receive the Android 12 beta update. However, there isn’t any information about which platforms will receive it or when the beta will be released for these devices.

Tecno Camon 17

Tecno has also announced that its Camon 17 system is available for an update to the Android 12 beta edition. The upgrade is now available, and users can quickly download the kit and flash their devices with it. However, there is no word about whether the previous Camon 16 sequence will be available for the beta upgrade.

TCL 20 Pro 5G

TCL’s most recent smartphone, the TCL 20 Pro 5G, is ready for the Android 12 beta update. The beta upgrade kit can now be downloaded. Please keep in mind that the base TCL 20 will not be available for the upgrade for the time being. TCL will also enable you to revert to Android 11 if you find the beta upgrade to be too buggy and interferes with your day-to-day use.

Vivo iQOO 7 Legend

The iQOO 7 Legend smartphones will be the first ones to receive the Android 12 beta update. The first beta update is now available, and the second beta update should be available by late July. If you have problems with the developer beta, you will be able to roll back to the stable version of Android 11.

Xiaomi Mi 11 series

Xiaomi’s Min11 series smartphones also received the Android 12 beta update. The Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11i, and Mi 11X Pro have all received the upgrade. Xiaomi recommends upgrading to Android 12 through the fastboot process. Since these are beta versions, certain glitches are bound to appear. As for Xiaomi users, both of the above devices have a variety of problems that arise.

ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G

ZTE has already jumped on board with the Android 12 developer preview. The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G is now eligible for Android 12 beta and can be downloaded. It is unclear if the Axon 30’s lower version would be available for the beta upgrade. It’s also possible that the smartphone will get the secure upgrade to Android 12 alongside the global and stable release later this year.

A Word of Warning

Since these are early previews of Android 12, you should anticipate a variety of glitches and problems with the device’s daily operation. The concerns will be addressed progressively with subsequent beat releases before the final version is ready for publication. Often make sure to only import upgrade bundles from the official forums. Downloading from illegitimate sources and for the wrong device would brick the device.
